Grilled Onions with Applewood Smoked Sea Salt
There are so many tasty ways to use smoked salt. We offer an Alderwood Smoked Salt and an Applewood Smoked Salt and will be sharing some fun ways to use both. The Applewood Smoked Salt is the milder of the two, with an almost sweet smoky flavor pairing perfectly with the bold flavor of fresh onions. These are delicious enough to eat right off the grill, or use them as a side dish or a topper for grilled sandwiches. Try as a side topped with a drizzle of balsamic reduction and bleu cheese crumbles and we promise you won't be disappointed!
- 4 Large onions cut into 1" discs.
- 2 tbsp Cultivate Applewood Smoked Sea Salt
- Olive Oil
- Brush some olive oil on the onion disks and sprinkle evenly with Cultivate Applewood Smoked Salt.
- Slow cook on medium-low heat until caramelized, but not burnt. Then, flip and caramelize the opposite side.
